Job summary

SAI SYSTEMS in Michigan is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead controls engineering on automation projects, owning design through commissioning.

You will program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), develop HMIs, program Fanuc robots, and travel to customer facilities for installation and startup. The role demands hands-on shop work and collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in industrial controls engineering.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms; Fanuc robot programming and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering activities from design through commissioning on automation projects.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
• Develop and maintain HMI applications for operator interfaces and system visualization.
• Program, configure, and commission Fanuc robots and integrate with other automation systems.
• Travel to customer facilities for installation, startup, and technical support.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to programming standards.
