Job summary

Mestek Machinery seeks an experienced automation engineer to design, develop, and manage control systems for industrial automation projects. You will work on PLC programming, MMI interfaces, and hardware integration within a team spanning mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.

You will lead projects from planning through commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery within budget. Strong problem solving, communication skills, and proficiency in CAD tools are essential for success.

Qualifications

BSEE or BSME with 5–7 years in industrial automation.
Knowledge of electrical codes (UL/CSA/CE).
Experience with major PLC brands (AB, Siemens, B&R).
Understanding of electromechanical relationships in automation systems.
Strong initiative and willingness to own projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and debug process and automation control systems; source vendors.
Create master plans, automation strategies, and software configuration; troubleshoot complex issues.
Coordinate with Engineering Manager on design standards and documentation.
Write and debug PLC code and device drivers; program MMI devices.
Determine power/load requirements and design control logic; draft cable diagrams.
Develop verification procedures and testing tools; ensure quality control.
