Love's Travel Stops is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Research Analyst to lead multi-state indirect tax returns, perform in-depth tax research, and guide strategic compliance. The role supports leadership decisions and drives process improvements across the tax function.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related experience, a strong background in tax regulations, and proficiency with tax software such as Avalara, Vertex, SRA, and SAP.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• CPA, JD, CMI, MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and filing of complex multi-state indirect tax returns.
• Conduct in-depth reconciliations and investigate tax discrepancies.
• Serve as a technical expert on indirect tax matters.
• Provide transactional tax planning to minimize tax liabilities.
• Monitor and communicate legislative changes impacting tax compliance.
• Lead tax research initiatives and maintain internal tax guides.
• Oversee audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
• Develop and implement tax process improvements and automation strategies.
• Partner with leadership to support business growth and expansion initiatives.
• Mentor and train tax analysts at all levels.
