Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to lead the company’s indirect tax function across sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and related obligations. You will drive compliance, planning, audits, and risk management while partnering with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business, or related field.
• CPA, CA, JD, LLM or equivalent preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive tax experience with indirect tax focus.
• Strong knowledge of sales/use tax and VAT/GST; experience with other indirect taxes is advantageous.
• Experience managing indirect tax compliance, audits, and advisory matters.
• Experience in a multinational or complex corporate tax environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead indirect tax compliance activities including sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and other transaction-based taxes.
• Ensure accurate preparation, review, and filing of indirect tax returns and payments.
• Maintain controls, documentation, and workpapers for indirect tax accounts.
• Monitor filing obligations, nexus, and changes in the tax footprint.
• Oversee third-party service providers for indirect tax compliance and reporting.
• Advise on indirect tax implications of new products, services, and geographic expansion.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and recover overpaid taxes where appropriate.
• Partner with Legal and Finance on contracts to ensure proper indirect tax treatment.
• Lead audits, coordinate responses, and negotiate with authorities.
• Develop audit strategies and remediation plans.
