Job summary

State of Arizona seeks an Individual Income Tax Auditor 3 to conduct highly complex audits of personal and corporate tax liabilities in alignment with Arizona law. The role may offer remote work within Arizona, with duties spanning data analysis, planning audit procedures, and preparing comprehensive reports.

The incumbent will educate taxpayers on tax rules, document audit work, and apply lean principles for process improvements while meeting performance targets in a public service environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex tax audits and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Arizona tax laws, GAAP, and GAAS.
• Ability to explain audit findings to taxpayers and reps.

Responsibilities

• Conduct highly-complex income tax audits for individuals and corporations.
• Prepare detailed audit findings and maintain audit files.
• Research complex issues and respond to taxpayer appeals.
• Support continuous improvement and lean practices within AMS.
