Job summary

Waymo is seeking a leader to design, execute, and scale incident readiness and crisis exercise programs across the enterprise. You will drive the long-term exercise roadmap aligned with Waymo's Safety Management System (SMS) and HSEEP, coordinate with cross-functional teams, safety partners, and external authorities, and oversee an extended workforce of exercise design specialists.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and scaling incident readiness and crisis exercise programs.
• Expertise integrating HSEEP into enterprise-wide readiness programs.
• Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and public safety agencies.
• Hands-on experience with complex operational software and incident management tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Operations, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and evaluate incident readiness exercises across the enterprise.
• Define the long-term exercise roadmap aligned with SMS and HSEEP methodologies.
• Lead end-to-end design and evaluation of functional exercises and drills.
• Standardize documentation and evaluation frameworks across the lifecycle.
• Oversee corrective actions to improve safety performance.
• Direct and support an extended workforce (xWF) of exercise design specialists.
