Job summary

Capable in San Francisco is seeking a scientist to lead design, execution, and interpretation of mouse studies to determine tissue exposure, target engagement, and phenotypic improvement.

You will stay hands-on with in-life work, oversee dosing routes, collect samples, and use PK/PD, efficacy, and safety data to drive next-study decisions. Early-stage, fast-paced environment with meaningful equity.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and running mouse studies in biotech/pharma/academic settings.
• Strong translational judgment to test tissue exposure, target engagement, and tolerance.
• Comfort with multi-route dosing and coordinating across assays.
• Ability to interpret PK/PD and efficacy data for decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design, run, and interpret mouse studies for efficacy, pharmacology, and safety.
• Select dose, route, schedule, tissues, endpoints, and go/no-go criteria.
• Perform or oversee in-life work: blood collection, necropsy, tissue collection, sample tracking, surgeries.
• Analyze PK/PD, efficacy, tolerability, biomarker, and tissue data to guide next steps.
• Design and execute EEG studies when required.
• Coordinate with downstream molecular, histology, and biomarker workflows.
• Turn datasets into the next well-controlled experiment.
