Job summary

FIS in Jacksonville, Florida seeks an experienced litigation counsel to manage a complex docket of litigation, disputes, and government investigations and to strategically advise the company while coordinating with external counsel. You will drive efficient investigations, align on case strategy, and mitigate risk across the organization.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of legal experience with a primary focus on litigation and government investigations in a corporate in-house or law firm environment.
• Experience with litigation, disputes, and government investigations.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, subpoenas, liens and levies, and collection matters.
• Experience within fintech, information technology, technology and services outsourcing, financial services, banking, payments, and capital markets, strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience advising clients in a complex, diversified, matrixed, global organization.
• Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced business environment.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for a complex docket of litigation, disputes, and investigations from various government agencies including preparing case assessments, advising and executing on case strategy, coordinating investigations and discovery, and managing external counsel.
• Proactively manage collections activity, subpoenas, liens, levies, and garnishments the company to drive efficiencies and align strategy.
• Shares best practices and learnings with others in the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth to ensure high standards of legal service.
