Job summary

First National Capital Corporation is seeking its first in‑house General Counsel to lead legal strategy and execution. The role is hands‑on and strategic, drafting and negotiating complex equipment finance and project funding agreements while shaping risk policies and compliance.

You will advise the executive team, mentor the Documentation team, manage outside counsel, and ensure compliance across the business. A California‑focused JD with extensive transactional experience is essential.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (California preferred).
• 5+ years in contracts, equipment finance, or related field with transactional focus.
• Ability to lead and mentor legal and documentation teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead as primary legal advisor to executives on structuring and negotiating complex equipment finance transactions.
• Oversee Documentation team ensuring best‑in‑class standards and workflow.
• Advise on governance, employment, and regulatory matters for corporate risk management.
• Manage outside counsel and vendors to ensure coverage and cost efficiency.
