Gilbane Building Company seeks an experienced in-house construction attorney to serve as Senior Legal Counsel for the Mid-Atlantic Division, supporting Washington DC/Arlington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.

The role partners with divisional and project leadership to provide strategic legal counsel across the construction lifecycle, including contracting, claims management, risk and compliance, and cross-functional counseling.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school is required.
• Active membership in a U.S. State Bar is required.
• Ability to obtain in-house registration or other required authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, practical legal counsel across all phases of the construction lifecycle.
• Manage commercial contracting, claims management, dispute avoidance, and dispute resolution.
• Partner with divisional leadership and cross-functional teams to balance legal risk with business goals.

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
