Corning seeks a Sr. IMS Engineer within the Optical Communications Division to design, deploy, and support manufacturing and data systems. You will drive automation equipment introductions, system integration, and cost-reduction initiatives across global sites.

The role requires 5+ years SCADA/PLC experience, Ignition/GE iFix skills, and strong data/IT acumen; travel up to 50% is expected, with global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of SCADA development experience (Ignition, GE iFix, or similar), PLCs, and programming languages (Python, Java, SQL).
• 3+ years experience integrating automated and manual manufacturing equipment with IMS.
• 1+ year experience with industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Design, document, implement, and maintain SCADA systems for automated manufacturing and processes.
• Interface equipment with MES and enterprise data platforms.
• Provide technical guidance on SCADA and data systems to ensure reliability and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with vendors to design equipment interface specifications.
• Capture Voice of Customer from sites for system design and improvements.
• Work with Process engineering to supply data to data historians.
• Execute project assignments in a team-based, low supervision environment.
