Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer focused on IMS, with extensive experience in administration and systems programming for IMS environments. The role requires deep knowledge of JCL, DB design, SMP/E, and parallel Sysplex configurations to support mainframe clients.

The ideal candidate will provide premium IMS support, participate in migrations, and cooperate with Disaster Recovery services while adhering to Ensono standards and ITSM processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of IMS administration and systems programming.
• Experience with IMS, CA and IBM tools for IMS preferred.
• Configure IMS in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Develop innovative IMS systems programming strategies and best practices.
• Troubleshoot IMS system and database issues.
• Evaluate change requests and impact on clients.
• Understand IMS database structures and path calls.
• Knowledge of ISM, log archive, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium support for mainframe IMS across OEM products.
• Lead 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Install OEM software products following Ensono standards.
• Support customer migrations for IMS and related products.
• Assist project managers in transitioning new customers on IMS.
• Execute disaster recovery tasks with the Disaster Recovery Services team.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
• Manage resource schedules to ensure timely implementations.
