Job summary

Ensono is seeking an Expert Mainframe Systems Programmer with extensive IMS experience to provide premium support and services to mainframe clients. The role reports to the Senior Manager – Mainframe Systems Programming and requires leadership in IMS-related problem resolution, migration support, and disaster recovery coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 12+ years in IMS administration and systems programming, and deep knowledge of IMS databases, JCL,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 12+ years of professional IMS administration and systems programming experience; CA and IBM tools for IMS a plus.
• Extensive experience with best practices in software management, maintenance and documentation.
• Configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Develop innovations and best practices in IMS systems programming.
• Troubleshooting IMS system and database issues.
• Evaluate change requests and impact to clients.
• Strong JCL skills; Database Administration with IMS concepts.
• Knowledge of IMS database structures and path calls.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customer service requests for mainframe z/OS customers related to IMS and OEM software.
• Provide primary support for reported IMS-related problems.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per Ensono standards.
• Support customer migrations related to IMS and OEM products.
• Assist migration of newly acquired customers to meet timelines.
• Execute disaster recovery tasks in cooperation with DR services.
• Maintain schedule that enables timely implementations.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures.
