The role involves auditing import entries, managing multiple projects, and maintaining diligent records. Travel up to 25% may be required as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive experience in import compliance or customs consulting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. CBP regulations and Partner Government Agency requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex regulatory matters clearly.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; Access or databases helpful.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.

• Prepare analyses, opinion letters, compliance memoranda, and client recommendations.
• Audit import entries for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.

• Maintain accurate, timely records of project activities and billable time.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Import Consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, professional, and dynamic environment. The Senior Import Consultant will be responsible for:

• Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, government agencies, and other external parties.
• Research, interpret, and apply U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Partner Government Agency regulations.
• Prepare well-supported analyses, opinion letters, compliance memoranda, and client recommendations.
• Audit import entries and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate importer compliance with U.S. Customs laws and regulations, identify risks and gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage multiple concurrent consulting projects, priorities, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate, timely daily records of project activities and billable time.
• Contribute to departmental process improvements, knowledge sharing, and the development of effective compliance practices.
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in import compliance, customs consulting, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex regulatory matters clearly and professionally.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and applicable Partner Government Agency requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Access or comparable database tools preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, as business needs require.
