Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Houston seeks a Senior Implementation Engineer to drive new client and facility deployments within our contract logistics network. You will manage layouts, readiness actions, capital investments, and Lean/CI standards, partnering with the project team and facilities to deliver on time and on budget.

You will collaborate across IT, WMS, and operations, lead site setup and process optimization, and ensure solutions meet technical and commercial requirements while managing vendors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of logistics & distribution experience designing, implementing, or launching new facilities and solutions.
  • 3PL experience required and WMS configuration experience.
  • E-commerce and Omni channel fulfilment experience desired.
  • Experience in designing building utilities and infrastructure for material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Solutions Design to understand data assumptions, solution design elements, and procurement needs for new client and new facility implementations.
  • Lead site setup, facility outfitting, layout execution and process optimization activities in the fulfillment center
  • Define the slotting and replenishment strategy for each new client engagement by analysing data and communicating insights to operations.
  • Coordinate with IT and WMS Configuration to define location naming, work zones, material flow and routing, and pick sequences in WMS.
  • Use data and labour standards to validate pricing assumptions and develop operational reporting for visibility and efficiency.

YOUR ROLE

The Sr. Implementation Engineer will support the implementations of new clients and new facilities in CEVA Contract Logistics network. The Engineer will be responsible for maintaining layouts, ensuring facilities readiness actions are completed, tracking capital investments, and implementing CEVA LEAN and Continuous Improvement Engineering standards. The Engineer will collaborate with the Implementation project team and local Operations & Facilities teams to ensure all actions are completed on-time and in budget.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Collaborate with Solutions Design to understand data assumptions, solution design elements, and procurement needs for new client and new facility implementations.
  • Lead site setup, facility outfitting, layout execution and process optimization activities in the fulfillment center
  • Define the slotting and replenishment strategy for each new client engagement by analysing complex sets of data. Must communicate key insights and strategies to Operational partners.
  • Coordinate with IT and WMS Configuration team to define location naming, work zones, material flow & routing, and pick sequences in WMS system.
  • Use data, direct observation, and predetermined labour standards to validate pricing assumptions, including change requests, and develop Operational reporting to drive visibility and efficiency in the Operation.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Development team to ensure work instructions represent the specific processes and physical work performed in the facility.
  • Partner with Project Management and Procurement to ensure equipment and supplies are ordered, tracked, delivered, and implemented on-time and on budget.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of Logistics & Distribution experience designing, implementing, or launching new facilities and solutions
  • Third Party Logistics (3PL) experience required.
  • WMS configuration experience
  • E-commerce and Omni channel fulfilment experience.
  • Experience designing building utilities and infrastructure requirements including power, air, data required to support solution design for material handling equipment and processes
  • Experience in managing vendors and integrators with implementation of material handling equipment.
  • Six Sigma and LEAN certifications a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Data Analysis, process mapping tools, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint. Knowledge of WMS functionality.
  • Experience in warehouse automation applications
  • Experience in managing vendors and integrators with implementation of material handling equipment.
  • Experience in quality and efficiency design with experience to identify best practices in high volume environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in sortation design and components, rates and material handling of various package configurations
  • Experience in designing and implementing user acceptance testing for material handling equipment installation.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated history of developing relationships and building trust, ability to work independently & in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
