Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Implementation Specialist to drive end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K–12 statewide assessment programs. You will serve as a primary client-facing leader for content development and coordinate cross-functional teams across Psychometrics, Content, Publishing Services, Program Delivery, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing and assessment with client-facing leadership.
• Expertise in item and test development for statewide K–12 assessments; both paper and online.
• Knowledge of psychometric principles.
• Experience with statewide assessments; classroom teaching valued.
• Proficient in project and financial planning.
• Strong vendor management and communication skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the year.
• Adaptability with enterprise systems and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assessment design and content development.
• Serve as primary client contact for content requirements.
• Translate standards into item/test specifications and secure approvals.
• Manage scope, schedules, and change control across vendors.
• Monitor labor forecasts and participate in finance meetings.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Facilitate customer meetings and track satisfaction.
• Lead team collaboration and staff development.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance content while ensuring compliance.
