Job summary

Confidential Employer seeks a senior managing attorney to own and manage an active U.S. immigration docket, from strategy to filing, hearings, and resolution. You will guide attorneys and paralegals while maintaining your own sophisticated caseload, advising on case theory and filing strategy.

The role offers nationwide remote work with court appearances and a diverse workload spanning USCIS, humanitarian, and removal-defense matters in a collaborative, judgment-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of U.S. immigration law experience.
• Hands-on removal-defense experience before immigration courts.
• Experience with USCIS and humanitarian immigration matters.
• Active law license in good standing in any U.S. state; authority to practice before EOIR.
• Experience supervising attorneys and paralegals.
• Willingness to attend required immigration court appearances, including in-person hearings.
• Strong docket management, litigation strategy, and deadlines.
• Experience with detained and non-detained hearings preferred.
• Texas Bar membership or Board Certification in Immigration and Nationality Law preferred.
• Spanish language skills helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active immigration docket from strategy through filing, hearing, and resolution.
• Represent clients in removal-defense proceedings before EOIR, including master calendar hearings and individual hearings.
• Handle USCIS, humanitarian, and removal-defense matters, including family petitions, adjustment of status, waivers, asylum, and related issues.
• Develop case strategies, prepare clients for hearings, and advocate effectively in immigration court.
• Supervise attorneys and paralegals, establishing expectations for deadlines and hearing readiness.
• Review and strengthen filings, motions, RFEs, NOIDs, and supporting evidence.
• Make strategic decisions regarding case theory, evidence, and filing strategy.
• Handle complex client conversations with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain accurate deadlines and case activity through MyCase and calendars.
• Mentor attorneys and strengthen the quality and consistency of the practice.
