Job summary

American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is seeking a Senior Practice & Ethics Counsel to serve as the SME on immigration practice, legal ethics, and professionalism. You will guide members one-to-one, develop ethics resources, and partner with leadership to ensure AI and technology guidance remains sound and relevant to real immigration practice.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined experience in immigration law practice and law practice management.
• Experience advising lawyers on legal ethics issues.
• Demonstrated experience in law practice management — running a practice or advising lawyers on practice operations.
• Active bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop resources and educational programming on ethics and professionalism for AILA members.
• Provide one-to-one guidance to members on legal ethics and practice management.
• Lead and collaborate with Center staff and committees on ethics, AI, and technology guidance.
• Create and present legal education programs at national and chapter conferences.
