Job summary

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is seeking a Supervisory Immigration Attorney to lead immigration case work, supervise staff attorneys, and guide processing initiatives within the Office of Staff Attorneys.

Ideal candidates hold a J.D. from an accredited law school, with at least eight years of post‑JD experience in immigration law and demonstrated supervisory responsibilities in a federal setting.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Minimum eight years post‑J.D. legal work experience, including significant immigration experience, with significant supervisory experience.
• Licensed to practice as an attorney in any U.S. state, territory, or D.C., and an active member of the bar.

Responsibilities

• Manage, assign, and track OSA’s immigration case work
• Develop and lead efforts to improve immigration case processing
• Supervise immigration staff attorneys
• Maintain substantive knowledge of legal issues
• Participate in hiring, training, and office administration
• Collaborate and liaise with office leadership and other court units
