Confidential Employer in San Diego, CA is seeking a senior immigration attorney to lead our removal defense team. You will manage cases from strategy through resolution, representing clients in EOIR hearings and related federal matters, while mentoring junior attorneys and staff.

The role requires fluency in Spanish, 5+ years of direct removal defense experience, and a strong command of EOIR procedures, writing, and advocacy.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of hands-on immigration court and removal defense experience.
• Fluency in Spanish, including professional communication with clients.
• Prior supervisory or mentoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of EOIR proceedings and removal defense strategy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, courtroom advocacy, and case management skills.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a senior attorney and team lead within our removal defense practice.
• Independently manage removal defense matters from strategy through resolution.
• Represent clients before EOIR in master calendar and individual merits hearings, and bond hearings.
• Handle matters before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Work on related federal litigation, including Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, and APA matters.
• Draft persuasive briefs, motions, applications for relief, and other complex legal filings.
• Develop case strategy and provide clients with clear guidance throughout the removal defense process.
• Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients regarding sensitive and complex immigration matters.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior attorneys and legal staff.
• Stay current on immigration law, litigation developments, and evolving court procedures.
• Lead internal seminars and share knowledge on removal defense and immigration litigation issues.

Location

Note

Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on removal defense experience, be fluent in Spanish, hold an active state bar license in good standing, and have experience supervising or mentoring attorneys or legal staff.
