Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of real-time data replication pipelines using IBM IIDR across mainframe and midrange platforms. The role emphasizes CI/CD, troubleshooting, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.

You will collaborate with teams to integrate IIDR with DB2, Kafka, and other targets, mentor engineers, and drive performance improvements while ensuring production stability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in IBM IIDR real-time data replication.
• Deep knowledge of IIDR across z/OS and IIDR midrange environments.
• Proficiency in z/OS and Unix: JCL, DB2 for z/OS, RACF, Unix scripting; IIDR-to-Kafka.
• Ability to tune IIDR performance between source and target datastores.
• Hands-on with IIDR Access Server and Management Console configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting with IIDR, DB2, SYSLOG/JES logs.

Responsibilities

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per acceptance criteria.
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components and interfaces.
• Mentors engineers and coaches CI/CD practices and automation.
• Executes story refinement and estimates work for delivery lifecycle.
• Performs spike/proofs of concept to mitigate risk or test ideas.
• Automates release activities and maintains test suites.
• Lead IIDR real-time data replication design across mainframe and midrange.
• Own end-to-end IIDR pipelines with DB2, Kafka, and other targets.
• Troubleshoot replication issues to reduce latency and improve availability.
• Optimize IIDR CDC pipelines and resource utilization.
• Provide technical leadership and IIDR best practices.
• Collaborate to define requirements and deliver solutions aligned to business.
• Ensure production stability and remediation strategies.
• Support testing, deployment, and CI/CD processes.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Drive continuous improvement via PoCs and automation.
