Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Sr II Security Compliance Specialist to lead compliance assessments across cloud platforms and delivery services. You will translate regulatory standards into actionable designs for architecture and engineering teams while guiding audit readiness initiatives and scalable control improvements.

You will collaborate with cloud architects, manage cross-functional risk assessments, and drive automated monitoring workflows.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting major compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or NIST)

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance assessments and readiness activities across cloud computing platforms and delivery services
• Translate complex regulatory standards into actionable guidance for technical architecture and engineering teams
• Evaluate architectures, control designs, and operational effectiveness against industry benchmarks
• Conduct risk assessments and direct cross-functional remediation across technical teams
• Develop security compliance playbooks, implementation docs, and automated monitoring workflows
• Mentor team members and represent the organization during external certification assessments and audits
