Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Sr II Security Compliance Specialist to drive security compliance across cloud infrastructure and delivery services. You will guide engineering teams to translate regulations into actionable designs and lead audit readiness efforts on a global scale.

You will collaborate with architects, implement scalable control improvements, and mentor team members while representing the organization during external assessments and audits.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant security/compliance experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or NIST.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity management, network security, and vulnerability management.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional communication skills.
• Experience with compliance automation tools and GRC platforms.
• Experience coordinating multi-organization audit evidence and external assessments.

Responsibilities

• Leading compliance assessments and readiness activities across cloud computing platforms and delivery services
• Translating complex regulatory standards into actionable guidance for technical architecture and engineering teams
• Evaluating architectures, control designs, and operational effectiveness against benchmarks
• Conducting risk assessments and directing cross-functional remediation
• Developing security compliance playbooks, implementation docs, and automated monitoring workflows
• Mentoring team members and representing during external certification assessments and audits
