Job summary

Ingenium Professional Services is seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure cloud engineer to lead the strategy, design, development, and deployment of web-based and mobile applications in the cloud.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Azure experience, knowledge of well-architected frameworks, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, government clients, and secure environments to improve IT operations and deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in CS/IT/Math.
• 3+ years designing and deploying Azure cloud solutions.
• Experience with well-architected frameworks.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and pipelines (ADF Objects).
• Collaborative with analysts, developers, and SMEs.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.
• US citizenship to work with US government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for projects.
• Define and document deployment and maintenance best practices.
• Ensure performance, uptime, and security of applications.
• Manage cloud environments per security guidelines for government clients.
• Develop and deploy Azure applications under guidance of architects.
• Participate in the SDLC for Azure solutions (planning to QA).
• Troubleshoot incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive fixes.
• Educate teams on new cloud initiatives and training as needed.
• Demonstrate problem-solving to prevent productivity impact.

Job Description

Cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure cloud engineer with expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of web-based and mobile application projects in the cloud.

The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and the ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for our projects
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of thoughtful design and security
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines for our company and US government customers
• Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy Azure applications at the direction of application architects and software partners
• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Azure solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
• Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
• Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen and able to work with US Government agencies
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
• 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure platforms
• Understanding of and experience with well-architected frameworks
• Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, web architecture, knowledge of web services, API, and REST, deploy virtual machines, working with the container and serverless technologies
• Experience with Azure Data Factory including ADF Objects, ADF pipeline, and integration runtime
• Proven ability to be collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, and subject matter experts
• Successfully deliver high-quality projects while working in teams following Agile frameworks.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills – verbal and written
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

• Must be willing to travel to job sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications are a plus
• Experience working with VPCs connected to corporate networks is a plus
• Experience working with Azure Gov and GCC High is a plus
• Experience with SQL in Azure and Azure Data Lake is desirable along with DAX, SQL, Excel, and Power BI
• Experience working with high-compliance, Government computing security frameworks like FedRAMP and CMMC is a bonus
