Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with identity, authentication, or security-critical systems.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience leading cross-team initiatives and setting engineering standards.
• Strong design, code review, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Venmo's identity platform (auth, verif, fraud risk).
• Partner with platform and security teams to align on identity standards.
• Lead architectural reviews and define engineering standards for identity systems.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute through design docs and reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Compliance, and Security on regulatory requirements.
• Own performance and availability of services and participate in on-call rotations.
