Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior ICT Designer in Chicago, IL to join our Building Engineering Services team. You will lead the ICT design effort, produce high-quality design drawings and specs, and mentor other designers within a multidiscipline group.

You will collaborate with BES leadership, engage with clients, and support project planning, marketing, and external relations while upholding HDR’s employee-owned culture and commitment to innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in security system design and familiarity with Autodesk.
• RCDD certification is helpful but not required.
• Demonstrates commitment to employee-owned culture and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art security system techniques, procedures and designs.
• Design and specify security systems including PLC, CCTV and card access equipment.
• Take responsibility for the complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives requiring analysis of multiple variables.
• Independently perform security/electrical engineering assignments with general instruction.
• Write specifications covering security system matters and coordinate with owners.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed across all design phases.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
