Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Expert Technical Editor in McLean, VA to provide mission-critical editorial and production support for a high-visibility customer. The editor will sharpen complex analytic content for senior executives, including White House-oriented materials, with IC standards guidance.

The role requires a four-day on-site schedule from 10:00am–8:00pm ET, with on-call editing support as events demand, and independent work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; 10 years with an MS/MA Degree or 7 years with a PhD.
• 4 years experience may be used in lieu of degree.
• Expert-level proficiency in technical writing and editing with strong knowledge of intelligence analysis and IC writing standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and content management systems.
• Ability to produce high-quality analytic products under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert technical editing for analytic products, ensuring accuracy and IC standards.
• Editing draft materials with grammar, punctuation, formatting, and style guidance.
• Managing tasks within the customer’s CMS and monitoring workflow updates.
• Coordinating iterative editing with authors and stakeholders.
• Editing graphics in collaboration with visual designers and cartographers.
• Obtaining final approval from front office personnel.
• Preparing deliverables in Word and PDF and coordinating dissemination.
• Disseminating intelligence products as required.
• Engaging with senior officials to ensure clear communication and mission alignment.
• Mentoring customer personnel to improve writing and editing skills.
• Ensuring all products adhere to standards and production processes.
