Job summary

LightEdge Solutions seeks an experienced IBM i sr. engineer to design, implement and support IBMi (iSeries-AS/400) platforms for client environments. You will manage backups (BRMS/FSFC), DR planning, and replication with MIMIX or iTera, ensuring high availability and security. Strong TCP/IP networking and HMC proficiency are required.

You will lead OS upgrades, PTF installations, and respond to escalations, collaborating with NOC and operations teams to maintain performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on IBM Power/IBMi experience.
• Experience with HA and replication software (MIMIX/iTera).
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, Implement and support various aspects of the IBMi (iSeries-AS/400) platform.
• Maintain and deploy operating system upgrades and PTF installations.
• Design, maintain IBM iSeries backups utilizing BRMS, FSFC, and VTL.
• Knowledge to setup BRMS software and enterprise tape library architecture (save/restore).
• Knowledge to set up and configure Full System Flash Copy (FSFC).
• Knowledge of MIMIX replication software or similar.
• Provide 3rd tier support for escalated issues.
• Configure partitions and systems using HMC and Virtual HMC.
