Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer to manage IBM BAW solutions and IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation. You will implement, configure, and optimize middleware on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring high availability and performance across platforms.

Responsibilities include configuration, monitoring, patches, automation, and collaboration with security and development teams to support production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) in production environments.
• Experience setting up and supporting IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA), ideally on Red Hat OpenShift.
• Strong knowledge of middleware technologies: IBM WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, Elastic Search, Postgres DB, DB2/Oracle, IBM MQ, FileNet, LDAP integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Bash/PowerShell scripting).

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in the setup, configuration, and administration of IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) on-premises and on cloud (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
• Manage middleware components for BAW and Cloud Pak.
• Perform health checks, capacity planning, monitoring, and performance tuning of middleware environments.
• Execute patches, upgrades, and hotfixes with minimal downtime.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and lifecycle tasks using automation tools.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks for internal teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for provisioning, deployments, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and monitor HA/DR for IBM BAW and Cloud Pak at middleware layer.
