Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer for Identity & Access Management. The role focuses on correctness-critical, high-throughput services, owning surfaces end-to-end and ensuring production reliability.

You’ll work on authentication/authorization systems, APIs, and distributed architectures across a global surface, collaborating with Product, Security, and UX teams, while applying AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years building and operating production systems at scale.
• Identity protocols and models (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC).
• Hands-on experience implementing identity protocols or fine-grained authorization.
• Go and TypeScript proficiency across Cloudflare’s stack.
• REST APIs design: routing, authentication, lifecycle, versioning.
• PostgreSQL and Redis: schema design, performance, caching.
• Strong distributed systems intuition and security focus.

Responsibilities

• Feature development for high-throughput IAM capabilities powering APIs.
• Design and evolve authentication/authorization systems for modern architectures.
• Translate requirements into robust REST APIs with cross-team collaboration.
• Maintain high engineering standards: reviews, docs, problem solving.
• Ensure platform reliability under constant production load.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development with sound judgment.
