Job summary

Gartner is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer - Identity & Access Management (IAM) to drive the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise IAM across Okta, Microsoft Entra ID and other platforms. You will architect secure authentication/authorization, implement SSO, MFA, and access governance while leading automation initiatives to boost operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IAM experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong IAM concepts, authentication, authorization and governance.
• Hands-on with SSO, MFA, and modern identity protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC).
• Experience with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Automation experience with Python/PowerShell for IAM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and support of enterprise IAM solutions across Okta, Entra ID, and other platforms.
• Design SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, and authentication policies.
• Architect integrations using SAML, OAuth/OIDC, SCIM, LDAP, and REST APIs.
• Manage Okta Lifecycle Management and Entra ID lifecycle processes.
• Develop IAM automation using Python, PowerShell and cloud-native tools.
• Enforce RBAC, PIM and least-privilege access controls across environments.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to onboard applications.
• Provide technical leadership, gather requirements, design solutions and ensure operations.
• Drive modernization efforts and security standard adoption.
