Job summary
American Express Global Business Travel seeks a Principal IAM AI Engineer to design and implement identity, access, and credential systems for AI agents and non-human workloads. You will lead a technical team, embed identity controls from inception, and align with compliance and risk requirements in a global travel tech environment.
The role focuses on scalable IAM architecture across multi-cloud, with emphasis on agent governance, secret management, and policy-driven authorization.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in IAM/cybersecurity with target-state design experience.
- Experience designing controls for non-human identities — service accounts and AI agents.
- Strong multi-cloud IAM design experience at scale (AWS or comparable).
- Hands-on with Okta and Saviynt or similar platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead access control execution and runtime identity enforcement.
- Govern machine identities and agentic systems throughout lifecycle.
- Build credential workflows for AI workloads with secure secret management.
- Implement granular, policy-driven authorization at scale.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to embed identity in design.
- Roll out end-user identity governance as required by standards.
- Coordinate with compliance and risk teams for audits and reporting.
- Define engineering strategy and roadmap for machine identity programs.
