Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. in Nassau Bay, TX is seeking a Sr. I&E Designer to develop and review detailed instrumentation and electrical designs for industrial projects. The role requires hands-on producing drawings, schematics, and panel layouts while coordinating with engineers and field personnel.

You will verify design inputs, perform site data collection, and ensure deliverables meet project specs, industry standards, and client requirements, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in instrumentation and electrical design tools and software (AutoCAD, CADWorx) and the ability to produce detailed I&E drawings and documentation.
• Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, control systems, and electrical distribution, including field devices, panels, wiring methods, and applicable codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and field personnel to gather design inputs, perform site visits, and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and specifications, and translate them into accurate design deliverables and construction-ready documents.
• Solid organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Relevant experience in energy, refining, petrochemical, or related sectors; brownfield and greenfield projects are beneficial.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with procedures; familiarity with process safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed instrumentation and electrical design packages, including drawings, schematics, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Coordinate field walkdowns, gather site data, and incorporate design changes for constructability and accuracy.
• Support project planning, provide design input during reviews, and assist with quality checks to maintain safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other discipline designers to ensure designs meet project specifications and client requirements.
