Job summary

Airswift has been tasked by a major chemical client to source an I&E Designer for a long-term contract in Geismar, LA. The role focuses on layout and design using AutoCAD, creating construction packages, one-line diagrams, and electrical site plans with engineers.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of AutoCAD experience for electrical drawings, P&ID knowledge, BOM development, and strong plant-site exposure, enabling independent work across project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience using AutoCAD to develop electrical drawings.
• Experience producing P&ID, electrical equipment layouts, schematics, grounding plans, cable tray and conduit plans, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings, and termination drawings.
• Experience developing a Bill of Materials from electrical drawings.
• Ability to work independently and deliver complete projects from start to finish.
• Strong onsite plant experience.
• Capable of creating complete construction packages from scope of work and one-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design/drafting for projects of moderate or large size and complexity with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to gather and distribute data.
• Review and check drafting deliverables for accuracy and quality.
• Provide complex design solutions for electrical projects.
• Estimate projects, update task registers, and write project status reports.
• Develop electrical site plans, conduit plans, wiring diagrams, and control diagrams with engineers.
