I&E Designer: Electrical CAD & P&ID Expert

Job summary

Airswift has been contracted by a major chemical client to locate an I&E Designer for a long-term assignment in Geismar, LA. The role focuses on independent design and drafting of electrical packages from scope data with strong CAD capabilities and coordination across disciplines.

The candidate will develop construction drawings, one-line diagrams, and BOMs, while closely aligning with project schedules and client standards onsite at the facility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD to develop electrical drawings.
• Experience producing drawings including P&ID, electrical equipment layouts, schematics, grounding plans, cable tray and conduit plans, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings, and termination drawings.
• Experience developing a Bill of Materials from electrical drawings.
• Ability to perform quality work within deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently and complete projects from start to finish.
• Strong onsite plant experience.

Responsibilities

• Design/drafting on projects of moderate or large size and complexity with no assistance required.
• Coordination with other disciplines to gather and distribute required data.
• Reviewing and checking drafting deliverables for accuracy and quality.
• Provide complex design solutions on projects.
• Estimate projects, update Task Registers, and write project status reports.
