Job summary

Novetus Engineering LLC in Houston is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer with hands‑on experience in power‑island systems. This role focuses on specifications, design packages, documentation, and technical oversight for major power‑plant equipment.

The ideal candidate has experience with GTG, HRSG, ACC, Steam Turbines, and GE/Baker Hughes Mark VI/Mark VIe controls, plus familiarity with SPI and ASME Code 31.1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of I&C engineering experience in power generation or industrial energy.
• Experience with GTG, HRSG, ACC, Steam Turbines and packaged equipment.
• Experience with GE/Baker Hughes Mark VI/Mark VIe control systems.
• Familiarity with SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) and ASME Code 31.1.
• Strong background in engineering deliverables development (specs, drawings, narratives).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engineering documentation including instrument specifications and loop sheets.
• Provide I&C engineering support for GTG, HRSG, ACC, Steam Turbines, and balance‑of‑plant systems.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure integration into plant control systems.
• Support project teams with technical oversight and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Code 31.1 and project standards.
• Use SPI for instrument index management and deliverable control.
• Assist commissioning and startup with documentation and punch‑list resolution.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and evaluations of instrumentation and control systems.
• Lead or support upgrades and reliability improvements on the power island.
