Westinghouse Electric Company seeks an I&C Engineer for a 12-month assignment at the Surry Nuclear Station in Surry, VA. You will work within the Digital I&C program to upgrade analog systems to digital technology and modernize the main control room.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to evaluate modifications, develop safety-focused I&C architecture, and support testing, design packages, and regulatory compliance throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of instrumentation & controls design engineering experience in a power generating station, nuclear background
• 10+ years of industry experience
• 4-year Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering degree or equivalent
• Hold or previously held a U.S. Professional Engineer license can be used in lieu of a 4-year degree
• Experience with nuclear power plant design, systems, and components
• 50.59 (screen and evaluation) and nuclear licensing experience
• Engineering design qualification for nuclear changes is desirable

• Developing and contributing to safety system I&C architecture decisions and designs
• Reviewing and preparing design packages, specifications, calculations, and hazard analyses
• Overseeing contracted engineering work per industry standards
• Providing testing and simulations oversight and procedure reviews
• Interfacing with equipment suppliers and stakeholders for reviews
• Analyzing risk and implementing mitigation in designs
• Reporting status to engineering leads and project management
