Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our energy division in a remote role based out of Oak Ridge, TN or Richland, WA. You will lead design, development and validation of I&C systems for nuclear projects, including small modular reactors, ensuring safety regulatory compliance and quality controls.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 7+ years in nuclear I&C, and advanced certifications; PE and Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in nuclear instrumentation and control.
• PE license preferred; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop I&C systems for nuclear projects including SMRs.
• Prepare instrumentation documents, data sheets, and I/O lists.
• Support installation, commissioning, and field engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical training and engineering design support to staff.
