Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to lead technical management across project planning, design, construction, and commissioning of control systems for new generating facilities. You will oversee DCS procurement, control logic development, and cyber security assets, while guiding a matrixed team of engineers and technical staff.

The role requires strong knowledge of Emerson Ovation and Allen-Bradley PLCs, Excel in protocol, and experience with NERC CIP regulations.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or PE.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience for Engineer III; 6+ years or 5+ years with PE for Senior Engineer.
• Master's degree in engineering may substitute for a BS degree.

Responsibilities

• Support development phase of major project scope and EPC bid package.
• Support interconnection design with Transmission and ensure contract alignment.
• Assist in cost estimates, scheduling, risk analysis, bids, and contracts.
• Provide engineering oversight to meet project requirements and design criteria.
• Participate in design reviews, construction support, RFIs, and commissioning.
• Specify and procure Emerson DCS equipment; develop/ review control logic and graphics; lead factory acceptance testing.
• Oversee construction and programming of site controls and cyber security assets.
• Maintain knowledge of cyber security and NERC CIP regulations.
• Ensure compliance with ISA, IEEE, NFPA, NERC; provide on-site engineering support.
• Prepare technical reports and analyses; manage projects with minimal oversight.
