Job summary

DataSoft Technologies is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Professional to lead an onsite Santa Clara team on semiconductor manufacturing projects. The role includes overseeing staff, defining scope, and guiding PLC, HMI, and SCADA development with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate brings a PE license, a decade of relevant experience, and deep knowledge of ABB/Rockwell/Siemens automation platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering from a USA accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Minimum 10 years of direct relatable experience.
Experience with SCADA platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC, Cimplicity).
Experience with motion control, robotics, high-speed automation systems.

Responsibilities

Manage onsite team of engineers, technicians and programming specialists.
Provide scope, schedule and budget information to project leadership.
Provide engineering leadership and technical expertise.
Architect full automation solutions including PLC, HMI, SCADA, networks, and field devices.
Coordinate with internal and external global teams to establish schedules.
Lead development of HMI/SCADA systems focusing on usability and reliability.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex system failures.
Mentor and grow team members.
