About the Role
iParametrics is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to support complex industrial and federal projects. This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing control systems that drive project success. You will lead I&C design activities across all phases of projects, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and seamless system integration.
Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of I&C engineering activities including:
Control systems architecture and network development
Digital control systems (PLC/DCS) programming and configuration
HMI design and communication protocol development
Process control system design and P&ID support
Network switch configuration and layout planning
Safety Instrumented System (SIL) considerations
Prepare and review design documentation, system specifications, and engineering calculations.
Interpret and apply , State, and Local codes and standards for design and construction documentation.
Develop control narratives, logic diagrams, and system descriptions.
Provide support for procurement activities including technical evaluations and vendor reviews.
Estimate engineering costs, develop schedules, and support project planning activities.
Participate in design reviews and support project startup activities.
Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to ensure coordinated project execution.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power) or a related accredited engineering field.
Minimum 10 years of I&C engineering experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, and construction documentation (nuclear project experience ).
Working knowledge of:
Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards.
Computer-aided drafting applications.
Strong understanding of control system design, logic development, and industrial communication networks.
Ability to generate, review, and validate complex engineering calculations and design documents.
Strong organizational and communication skills, able to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (not required).
Experience supporting nuclear facility projects under nuclear quality assurance requirements.
Familiarity with I&C system integration for large-scale EPC projects.
Practical field experience supporting installation, startup, and commissioning of control systems.
