Job summary

Catalyx is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technical DesignLead to define, coordinate, and maintain the project’s I&C design requirements, equipment data, and testing standards. Ensure alignment with PCS architecture, site automation roadmap, and industry best practices.

The role involves coordinating with process, electrical, and commissioning teams, reviewing vendor SOWs, and driving cross-disciplinary interfaces to support construction and handover.

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrumentation and Controls, Electrical, or Automation engineering.
• Experience in instrumentation and controls design for industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of field instrumentation, valves, actuators, cabling, and panels.
• Understanding PCS architectures and vendor equipment integration.
• Experience coordinating with process, electrical, automation, and construction teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead I&C design requirements, specifications, schedules, and docs.
• Evaluate instrumentation technologies and standards for site operations.
• Define field instruments, valves, actuators, and connections.
• Coordinate I&C interfaces with process, PCS, electrical, and construction teams.
• Maintain I&C equipment data, specifications, and installation standards.
• Collaborate to align with site automation strategy.
• Provide input for long-lead process equipment packages.
• Define and review I&C requirements in vendor SOWs.
• Coordinate interfaces between vendor equipment and I&C systems.
• Define installation, loop testing, calibration, verification requirements.
• Identify gaps in instrumentation data before procurement/fabrication.
• Ensure designs meet standards, hazardous-area classifications, and safety.
• Lead technical design discussions and cross-disciplinary interfaces.
• Develop I&C design documentation for overall project and workstreams.
