Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) on the High‑Speed Missiles team in Costa Mesa, CA. You will bridge design and production to enable high-rate manufacturing of hypersonic systems, managing from prototype to LRIP and beyond.

You will own production lines, develop advanced processes for TPS materials, and create tooling, work instructions, and MBOMs while traveling as needed and meeting U.S. person and clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in mechanical/aerospace/manufacturing/industrial engineering or related STEM field or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with high-temperature TPS materials (carbon-carbon, CMCs, ablatives, or high-temp tiles).
• Experience leading qualification of aerospace materials and defining test plans per defense standards.
• Experience developing and documenting TPS manufacturing processes (layup, curing, pyrolysis, densification, machining, bonding).
• Willingness to travel <20% to support global operations.
• US Person and active security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the production line design, commissioning, and optimization for hypersonic programs.
• Collaborate with design during early phases to enable DFM/DFA for high-rate production.
• Develop and scale TPS and propulsion integration manufacturing processes.
• Architect and qualify custom tooling and automation to boost throughput and quality.
• Lead hardware transitions from prototype to LRIP and to full-rate production.
• Troubleshoot complex shop-floor issues and document work instructions and MBOMs.
