Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Data Center Master Planning Senior Design Manager to lead early-stage planning, test fits, and long-range campus strategy for large hyperscale data center campuses in Boston or Ashburn.

You will translate site constraints, zoning, utility availability, and market requirements into scalable campus plans that maximize MW yield, phasing flexibility, and capital efficiency. You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams and drive entitlement processes to project approvals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in master planning for hyperscale data centers.
• Ability to translate site constraints and market requirements into scalable campus plans.
• Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with authorities.
• Strong understanding of MEP space requirements, conductivity of phasing, and constructability.
• Experience supporting entitlements and approvals with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead master planning and test-fit efforts for large hyperscale facilities.
• Develop conceptual site plans, assess tradeoffs between MW yield and capital efficiency.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Due Diligence, and Entitlements teams for approvals.
• Guide design decisions including building height, massing, and setbacks.
• Oversee consultant engagement, RFPs, scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Support handoff from master planning into schematic design.
