Job summary

Digital Realty Trust, L.P. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Sr. Design Manager to lead the design of multiple data center projects, enforce Digital Realty Design & Engineering guidelines, and drive innovative thinking within budget and schedule constraints.

You will direct architects and consultants through the full design lifecycle, manage RFPs and vendor performance, ensure adherence to standards, coordinate with Delivery teams on budgets and forecasts, and present executive reports.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing technically complex projects.
• Bachelor’s degree required; professional license preferred.
• Ability to lead internal teams and external partners.
• Strong interpretation of drawings, specs, budgets, and schedules.
• Experience with data center design and DEG knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee architects, engineers, consultants, and equipment suppliers through full design lifecycle for data center projects.
• Lead end-to-end RFP processes for Architectural/Engineering consultants and Commissioning Agents.
• Manage consultant performance, including invoices and DEG deviations tracking.
• Apply DEG standards to ensure alignment with best practices and business goals.
• Partner with Delivery teams to develop schedules, budgets, and forecasts for design and construction.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals and provide recommendations to Delivery and Procurement teams.
• Lead design review sessions, including page-turns, and assess Basis of Design and commissioning plans.
• Serve as primary interface for build-to-suit projects, developing scope, budget, and schedule with Sales.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and monthly project reports, aligning with gating processes.
• Build vendor relationships and participate in commissioning activities; contribute to continuous improvement.
