Weihe Engineers seeks a senior Water Resources Engineer to lead hydrology, hydraulics, and watershed analysis on diverse Midwest projects. You will mentor junior staff and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable stormwater solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes independent work and collaboration, with a focus on continuous professional development and high-quality technical output.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • PE license in Indiana or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering.
  • Proficient in HEC-HMS, ICPR, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and GIS.
  • AutoCAD with Civil 3D knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological assessments, watershed modeling, floodplain analysis and mapping.
  • Design stormwater management systems, including detention basins, green infrastructure, stormwater quality, and erosion control measures.
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-HMS, ICPR, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and GIS.
  • Perform site evaluations and feasibility studies for stormwater and drainage-related projects.
  • Develop technical reports, drawings, and specifications in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in water resources engineering.
