Job summary

GHD in Southern California seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist/Business Development Specialist to lead hydrogeological studies, guide well siting, and grow the regional water practice across Irvine, Long Beach, LA, and San Diego.

You will develop client relationships, lead proposals, manage interdisciplinary teams, and mentor three to five direct reports, while delivering projects from investigation through design to outcomes that benefit communities.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology is required.
• A master's degree in geology or hydrogeology is preferred.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience is required.
• A California Professional Geologist license is required.
• Certification as a Certified Hydrogeologist is preferred.
• Strong client relationships in the region are required.

• Lead hydrogeological studies by selecting boring and well locations, overseeing data collection and interpretation.
• Serve as a seller-doer who builds client relationships and wins new work.
• Manage new and established projects from start to finish.

This role leverages strong regional client relationships to win new work, delivers large multidisciplinary hydrogeology and water projects, and manages and mentors a team of direct reports.

In this role, you will lead hydrogeological studies that guide well siting, groundwater development, and long-term water resource planning. You will build client relationships across the region, lead proposals, and win new work that grows our water practice. You will also manage interdisciplinary teams that carry projects from investigation through design, drawing on GHD's global water expertise to deliver outcomes that support communities.
