Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company is seeking a skilled technician to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild hydraulic cylinder parts and restore equipment to proper operation at an advanced level. The role includes reviewing schedules, using cranes and hoists, and performing laser-focused repairs across multiple mechanical systems.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and at least six years of experience, including two years on Caterpillar or similar equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or GED.
• Six years of experience with at least two years on Cat equipment or similar equipment.
• Proficient in at least four mechanical systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics).
• Ability to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs.
• Ability to lift/position parts up to 50 pounds and use a mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
• Ability to write repair activities on customer work orders and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies required, and prepare for duties.
• Use pallet jacks, lift trucks, overhead cranes, and other aids to move parts into position for repair.
• Pressure wash and repaint parts/equipment.
• Reference parts information on computers and enter data into record systems.
• Disassemble/reassemble parts or equipment using tools; lift/carry parts; clean parts; perform diagnostic tests.
• Move items using hoists, forklifts, and other aids to disassembly/repair/reassembly locations.
• Perform grinding, honing, boring, drilling, polishing and fabricate replacement parts before re-assembly and testing.
