Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic and water resources projects for diverse clients. You will perform analyses, model with HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D, and prepare detailed technical documentation.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support permitting processes, and engage in field investigations to ensure quality project delivery and professional growth.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• 5+ years Civil Engineering with hydraulic modeling, hydrology, drainage, or water resources.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and hydrology principles.
• Experience with 1D/2D HEC-RAS and/or SMS SRH-2D preferred.
• Familiarity with FEMA floodplain management, modeling, and permitting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and delivery of hydraulic and water resources projects for public and private clients.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for bridges, culverts, floodplains, drainage, and stormwater.
• Assist with 1D/2D hydraulic and surface water modeling using HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Assist with permitting and coordination with clients, contractors, and agencies.
• Participate in field investigations and construction support.
• Develop technical skills and take on increasing project responsibility.
