Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in the United States. You will support planning, design, and delivery of hydraulic and water resources projects for public and private clients, applying hydrologic analyses and modeling.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to field investigations, and help with FEMA floodplain work. PE preferred; 2+ years of civil engineering experience; proficiency with HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• 2+ years of civil engineering with exposure to hydraulic modeling or water resources.
• Experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SMS SRH-2D).
• Familiarity with FEMA floodplain management, modeling, and permitting is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and delivery of hydraulic and water resources projects for public and private-sector clients.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for bridge openings, culverts, floodplains, drainage systems, and stormwater projects.
• Assist with 1D and 2D hydraulic and surface water modeling using HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D.
• Support bridge hydraulic and scour evaluations, culvert design, floodplain analysis, drainage design, and stormwater projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Assist with FEMA floodplain modeling, LOMR/CLOMR applications as applicable.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction support.
